Are you in the mood for some dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction? Or maybe you want a good political CIA thriller? Perhaps you’d like nothing more than the perfect show to watch while you enjoy a nice glass of wine.

When I set out to review the best movies ever made in this series, I found that five movies appeared on more than one of the “Best Movies Ever” lists I was using. In this first post, I’ll take a look at three of those films.

Over the next few months, I’ll be watching 25 of the films considered to be the greatest to ever grace the silver screen and giving my opinions on them, along with ratings and thoughts as to how they each hold up in 2023.

A little over three months ago, I finished watching the first season of The Last Kingdom, a historical fiction epic, and gave the show a mostly positive review. Well, I’ve finally finished watching the entire series, which consisted of five total seasons (46 episodes) and a Netflix-released two-hour movie.

As we pass the middle of the month, let’s take a look back at three movies I’ve watched recently – one that was a little better than expected, one a little worse, and one that’s exactly the type of movie you’d want to watch when celebrating America’s birthday.
