A little over three months ago, I finished watching the first season of The Last Kingdom, a historical fiction epic, and gave the show a mostly positive review. Well, I’ve finally finished watching the entire series, which consisted of five total seasons (46 episodes) and a Netflix-released two-hour movie.

As we pass the middle of the month, let’s take a look back at three movies I’ve watched recently – one that was a little better than expected, one a little worse, and one that’s exactly the type of movie you’d want to watch when celebrating America’s birthday. 

There haven’t been too many movies worth watching released recently, but I managed to find three potential candidates of movies that might be worthy of your time. So, how do these three films stack up?

I’d heard about the psychological thriller, You, over the past couple of years, but never got around to sitting down and giving it a try until this past month. Unfortunately, it’s a big stinky mess that you should steer clear of.
